Stayed at Mburo Lodge for a night in January 2013 and returned to the lodge in August for a short stay to have an Ice Cold Soda and beer with my 3-friends.The view and location is just perfect.

Jude the Manager at the Lodge is always fantastic and welcoming. He will always make sure the clients have eaten and have had what they want.The amazing thing,he will always be the last one to sleep.I checked through the window close to Mid-night and he had his solar light moving around probably to find out everything is in the order.

The Full course meal is always fantastic and my favorite was the Onion soup,the staff that bring the food are also great.rooms very clean,warm water was available.

My advise to any one going to the lodge,please inform them if you will be there for lunch so that you find some thing ready.

At the conclusion of our tour, we loaded up and began our journey to our first overnight, Lake Mburo.

On the way, we stopped for pictures at the equator and browsed the shops for local crafts. In keeping with our schedule, Ben didn’t allow us to linger too long so that we would be able to enjoy a nice game drive on the way through the park to our lodge, Lake Mburo Safari Lodge-where we would spend two nights.

This is the only lodge that I was unable to write a review for. I could not find a property here on Trip Advisor by this name and when I went to create one, I realized there are two properties by the same name in the area and the only one I could find by doing a search was not the one we stayed at so I couldn’t answer the needed questions to start a review.

It was located on the east side of the park, not far from Mihingo Lodge and Lake Kacheera. Overall we would give this property a 5 out of 5.

The rooms were individual little cabins that were arranged on a ridge overlooking the valley and park below. Each room was spacious and clean, each having beds with mosquito nets, chairs, a small table and indoor bathroom with hot water. There was electricity for the lights in the room, but no plug-ins for charging. Each morning the staff would bring tea/coffee to your room for your wake up call.

The main lodge was a large, open air, two story building with sitting areas on one side and dining on the opposite side. A bar was situated in the center with a charging station to charge your camera batteries, phones, computers, etc.

The service was excellent, as was the food. Jude, the House Manager, was exceptional and always made sure we were taken care of while we were there. For a budget to midrange property, this was an excellent value.

For such quick notice, what was it something like 24 hours, your staff had arranged for the rangers at the main gate to be expecting us as well as at the new gate, there was absolutely no delay even though we had very heavy traffic on the main Kampala/Mbarara road, and only arrived at the lodge at around 22:30.

Once again, your staff were all out with flashlights and welcoming smiles, warm welcome from all, and to crown it all an excellent hot meal – in the middle of the night!

This is really commendable and we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all concerned. We really liked your lodge, the setup, the service, the food and will definately like to visit Mburo Safari Lodge again.

I was on the Compassion Tour in January and would like to say thanks for such an awesome visit! Your staff was very gracious and kind, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere provided a much-needed break from the emotional and spiritual stretching we had been through during the previous days.
